Pretoria Backpackers and Travellers Lodge serves as an excellent base from which to explore the areas around Pretoria and Joburg,

As off 10 June 2009 we still have avalibility for the Confederation Cup games played in Rustenburg and Joburg.
Regret we are fully booked for the Rugby Test between SA and the British Lions in Pretoria.
We are walking distance from Loftus Rugby and Football Staduim
We also provide a shuttle to all FIFA and British Lions matches in JoBurg and Rustenburg
Our travel centre will go out of their way to arrange excurtions around Jo'burg and Pretoria. They will keep you busy with a whack of things to do in and around the area.

Our accommodation consists of en-suites double and twin rooms, standard double and twins and family rooms and 2 or 3 bedded dorms. The lodge has a self-catering kitchen and braai facilities.

We are situated within a few minutes walk to Hatfield, a 30 min walk to town and 5 min from the University of Pretoria . Surrounded by most embassies ( Mozambique , British, US, Dutch and German) but we are still enjoying residential peace and tranquillity.

Dinners are not to be missed at our local pubs, just a stone throw away.
A self catering kitchen is provided if you want to prepare your own food, with supermarkets a short walk away. We also have an excellent arrangement with a delivery company.

We are situated in Hatfield / Arcadia area of Pretoria , next to Loftus Versveld Rugby Football stadium, within easy walking distance to the Union Buildings , Hatfield and University of Pretoria.
The City Centre with over 33 museums is 20 min walk away and yes you can WALK there and BACK without getting mugged.
The Zoological Gardens is closeby as is the Botanical Gardens
Pretoria is a shoppers paradise - cash in on seasonal specials and go home with a new wardrope @ a fraction of what you would pay @ home. We have some of the biggest malls in South Africa right on our doorstep

We have a Mini City Tour that takes people up toward the Voortrekker Monument, Church Square and Union Buildings for R 100 pp.

Take R 21 towards Pretoria , follow for 45 km till you get to the Fountain Circle . Follow signs towards Sunnyside for 4 km. Turn right into Schoeman str, continue for about 4 km till you find Farenden str on you right. Turn right and find number 425 Farenden on you right. The house is clearly marked.

From Jo'burg
Take N1 towards Pretoria , follow for 40 km till you get to the N1 / M1 split. Take M1 towards Fountain Circle . Follow signs towards Sunnyside for 4 km. Turn right into Schoeman str, continue for about 4 km till you find Farenden str on you right. Turn right and find no 425 Farenden on right. The house is clearly marked
From Nelspruit
Follow N4 towards Pretoria, you will enter Pretoria from east in Pretoruis str, follow for 4 km. After you have past the US Embassy on left slow down and turn left into Farenden str. Look out for no 425 on left, the house is clearly marked.
From the North
Follow N 1 towards Pretoria , Take the N 4 or city turn off. You will enter Pretoria from east in Pretoruis str, follow for 4 km. After you have past the US Embassy on left slow down and turn left into Farenden str. Look out for no 425 on left, the house is clearly marked.
Safe and secure lock-up parking are always available.
Baz Bus
Just jump on the shuttle from Joburg (free) and miss the TRAFFIC while you'll be chauffeur driven to the lodge
